GUNS FOR SAN SEBASTIAN will be kicking out the late night jams, going long and strong as always at the BBR. Our friends NAUGHTY DONKEY will be playing your favorite covers warming up the room for what is sure to be an epic night of moving, grooving, dancing and romancing.
GUNS FOR SAN SEBASTIAN
It's the kind of stuff that goes with a Tarantino movie - sexy, raw in that small-lawless-desert-town kind of way. Heavily influenced by 60s and 70s rock, travel, blues, and saturated tube amps, Guns for San Sebastian plays inspired music exploding with soul, power, and love. With a sound that has been compared to the Black Keys, Black Crowes, and Led Zep, Guns for San Sebastian has a voice all their own.
NAUGHTY DONKEY is composed of a group of local session players and former members of national touring bands who have played with different groups in locales ranging from dive bars to big festivals all over the U.S. and in Europe. The band includes session ace Temp Keller on drums, multi-instrumentalist Jamie Goodyear, guitar player Nat Zilkha from the band Red Rooster (who played at 2008’s Newport Folk Festival) and vocalist / diva Christy Pichicero, who graduated with a degree in opera singing and musicology from the Eastman School of Music. Individually they have shared stages with bands as diverse as Jimmy Buffet, the Black Crowes, the Samples, Hot Tuna, Acoustic Junction and Levon Helm. Now they all live in San Francisco and are just looking to have fun and make good time, good drinkin’, bootyshakalicious music. Playing diverse sets ranging from stax soul to funk, blues and rock, it’s a party and you’re invited.
