ROBERT WALTER
(Hammond B3/keys - Greyboy Allstars, Frequinox, 20th Congress)
Robert Walter, the organ/piano player, was a founding member of the Greyboy Allstars, with whom he played for five years and toured extensively. He has also played and recorded with jazz and funk icons Fred Wesley, Melvin Sparks, Andy Bey, and Reuben Wilson, and he contributed to the soundtrack of the 1998 film Zero Effect. In 1996, Walter released a solo album featuring sax great Gary Bartz called Spirit of ‘70. Two years later, he formed Robert Walter’s 20th Congress in San Diego.
REED MATHIS
(bass – Tea Leaf Green, JFJO)
Reed Mathis likes to play the bass. He likes it a lot. He likes darn near every style of music he has heard, and finds just about every role the bass gets to play immensely satisfying. If his life thus far is any indication, he has a never-ending road of learning and fun to look forward to on his instrument. In 1994 Reed co-founded the group Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey with 7 other Oklahomans, and they spent the next 11 years (and counting) on the road, becoming a trio in 2000. Sometimes wild and experimental, sometimes delicate and beautiful, JFJO is nothing if not an honest exploration of the joy of improvising. "Simply put, bassist Reed Mathis is the future of jazz bass, a wholly original voice pressing into the outer reaches of his instrument." --All MUSIC

SIMON LOTT
(drums – Charlie Hunter)
Simon Lott was born into a musical family in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He began playing gigs around age 15. Since then, Lott has played with many different ensembles. He is currently drumming for Charlie Hunter’s trio and plays with many fine musicians all around the United States. In addition to performing, Lott has also acted as a drum instructor at the University of New Orleans and teaches privately wherever he may be. He holds a B.A. in English Literature from LSU. Simon released his first record as a leader when he was 18. He is working on a follow-up called Simon Lott's Things to be released later this year. Other up-and-coming projects include recordings with Charlie Hunter Trio, Monika H. Band and Todd Sickafoose's Blood Orange. He has recently released an album on 8bells records called it's ok to sit in the middle of the road henry with the improvising collective renwicke (featuring artwork by his mother, Elizabeth Lott).
JOE COHEN
(saxes/fx – Jazz Mafia)
In addition to playing the alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, Joe plays piano, flute, clarinet, and electronics. He has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such notable performers as Bobby McFerrin, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Idris Muhammed, Lyrics Born, KRS-One, Michael Franti, Thomas Dolby, Peter Rowan, Booker T Jones, JBoogie, Benevento Russo Duo, Galactic, Digital Underground, Abstract Rude, Soulive, Spencer Day, Eric Lindell, and Russell Batiste among others. Joe does frequent studio session work and has appeared on recordings with Zion-I, Grippo "Circuits", Spencer Day, Will Bernard's Motherbug, The Disco Biscuits, VU, and Dj Zeph. Touring highlights include multiple domestic tours with Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus and a successful tour with blues artist E.C. Scott. Joe is a founding member of the Bay Area's Jazz Mafia…
SERGIO RIOS
(guitar – Orgone, Breakestra)
“Sergio Rios is fun to watch, bouncing around like a funky puppet, his hair in floppy rhythm as his wah-wah wha’d.”
Sergio Rios, himself an in-demand musician (most notably as guitarist for Orgone, The Lions, and Breakestra.) who is not only a furiously electrifying guitarist (think young Santana, Paul Weller and Clapton explosive innovations crossed with pure tone and delivery of Ivan Boogaloo Jones), is also the prolific engineer, owner and operator of the famous ‘Killion Studios’ in L.A.

STYMIE AND THE PIMP JONES LUV ORCHESTRA
Stymie, who grew up in Hollywood off of Sunset, started the band in San Francisco in 1996. The first lineup featured Joe “Mojo” Powell, a soulful harmonizer who still sings with the band today, and Marilee Bazzano soon followed. As for the band name, Stymie thought it up while walking down Haight Street, and the name, like his songs, are meant to remind the audience that there ain’t nothin’ but overflowin’ imagination around here. The band soon proved itself to be incredible live, and while it has enjoyed the honor of opening gigs for the likes of Earth, Wind, & Fire, Fred Wesley, and Billy Preston over the years, Stymie and thePJLO has been packing ‘em in with its own sold-out headlining shows for over a decade now.
