DJ LOGIC
DJ Logic is an American turntablist active primarily in jazz and with jam bands. Kibler was born and raised in The Bronx. An early interest in hip hop led to his using the turntables, practicing often.
ERIC McFADDEN
Eric McFadden is a guitar-playing virtuoso. He has toured the world both as a solo artist, as well as traveling with funk legend George Clinton (Parliament/Funkadelic), and rock legend Eric Burdon (The Animals). McFadden is a member of the new supergroup, TEN (www.TEN-music.com), alongside Thomas Pridgen (Mars Volta) and Norwood Fisher (Fishbone). McFadden is also a member of the all-star band, Stockholm Syndrome, which also includes notable players such as Dave Schools (Widespread Panic), Jerry Joseph (Jack Mormons), Wally Ingram (Sheryl Crow) and Danny Louis (Govt Mule).
Eric McFadden has also collaborated on stage and/or in the studio with the regal likes of Bo Diddley, Keb Mo’, Living Colour, Joe Strummer (The Clash), Nels Cline (Wilco), Les Claypool (Primus), The Meters, Pat MacDonald (Timbuk3), Robert Walter, Bernie Worell (Talking Heads), Bonnie Rait, Bill Kreutzman (Grateful Dead), Ron Wood & Chuck Leavel (Rolling Stones), Pink, among others.
JAY LANE
(of PRIMUS)
Jay Lane is an American drummer from the San Francisco Bay Area. He is currently a member of Primus, as well as Bob Weir's RatDog, Scaring the Children with Weir and Rob Wasserman, and the hip hop/jazz fusion group Alphabet Soup.
SERGIO RIOS
Pronounced with a long second “O,” the Los Angeles band Orgone is dedicated to heavy, raw, adrenaline-fueled funk and sweat-dripping soul. With a core rhythm section of close friends and self-taught musicians steeped in local DJ culture, Orgone has spent the last decade expanding their roster and evolving a sound rooted in old school respect but pulsing with the force of the new millennium. Orgone has become a staple on the festival circuit while gaining a reputation among fellow artists as one of the baddest go-to backing bands on the planet. Always evolving musically and cosmically, putting their own gritty takes on cuts by the Meters, Booker T. & the MGs, Grant Green and Funkadelic among others.
VICTOR LITTLE
Victor Little’s bass contributions include recordings and performances with luminary artists Patti Austin, Billy Preston, Angela Bofill, James Carter, Charlie Musselwhite, Robert Walter's Brand New Slang and the legendary Booker T. Jones.
plus:
*ZUHG*
Sometimes fusion artists fuse everything altogether at once, and it’s chaotic sensory overload. Well that’s not the case with ZuhG, blending elements of genres by fluidly transitioning into and out of various movements so to speak. Their music is clearly set within a reggae context, though expounded upon for the most part through blues based rock, with a detectable psych influence, and occasional "In the Court of the Crimson King" era progressive freak out jams. A very easy to listen to fusion music here, especially for the Southern Californian Coast beach scenes. Dirty Hippie Radio looks forward to seeing what’s in store for ZuhG as they mature down the road of fusion music. $20 - www.boomboomtickets.com |
