A night furiously smokin' hot Rock N' Roll from some of The Bay's best:
*PAMELA PARKER BAND*
Who is Pamela Parker?
Pamela Parker is a Rock Star from a by gone era and the promise of the ultimate female rock star fully realized. She is a diabolical beast of a quadruple threat wielding unmatched vocal abilities, monster guitar chops, classical piano skills, and is one of the best songwriters in a generation (she has built a large catalog of classic sounding originals). Pamela’s music is being promoted as "Original Classic Rock for the New Millennium". The music is very classic sounding guitar driven mid 70’s style rock (two lead guitars, bass, drums, powerful vocals, and occasional keyboards) with a heavy emphasis on songwriting, arrangement, and performance.
Though the template of this band is firmly planted in mid 70’s rock (taking their cues from Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy and the like) their sound is totally fresh and original. The musicianship of the band is second to none with Kevin Carnes (Broun Fellinis, Katdelic, etc) on drums, James Whiton (Tom Waits) on bass, and Rafael Tranquelino on guitar. Pamela’s incredible and powerful voice is often described as a cross between Robert Plant and Janis Joplin. She soars high like Plant but has just the right touch of gravel and growl ala Janis and when needed she sings smooth as silk. Even with these lofty comparisons Pamela’s voice is totally unique and one for the ages. Armed with her trusty Gibson SG and ultra talented band mates, Parker is set to reinvigorate the music world by offering up hot slabs of fresh rock & roll.
FatCat features Bay Area greats like Dave Combs on vocals, Ryan Hickey on keys, Dave Shuh on guitar, Randy Shultz on drums and Joe Quigley on bass.
