This BOOM BOOM ROOM PRESENTS’ show, DRAGON SMOKE 2005, is the THIRD annual of its kind at DRAGON’S DEN in New Orleans during Jazzfest.
Each year DRAGON SMOKE features ERIC LINDELL (guitarist/Singer) and ROBERT MERCURIO (bass/GALACTIC) along with a slew of New Orleans Groove Funk Soul Stars joining in.
The first DRAGON SMOKE in 2003 featured the same line-up of musicians as this, except that Jon Cleary played keyboards in 2003.
In 2004 it was MARCO BENEVENTO on Keys (and a whole slew of amazing players that sat in throughout the night - including ERIC KRASNO, NICHOLAS PAYTON, etc., etc. etc.).
This year in 2005, we welcome IVAN NEVILLE on the ivories and ERIC BOLIVAR on the drums.
This intimate sized venue, the Dragon’s Den, lends its genuinely sultry atmosphere to the vibe of the show and seems to evoke a legitimately soulful and inspired musical collaboration by these players; resulting in an incredible experience for audiences to behold.
The music of DRAGON SMOKE 2005 truly represents the New Orleans Funk, R&B and Soul tradition all within in a living room setting.
